PokerSoftware.com: How was the concept for Holdem Genius developed? Where did the idea come from?
Holdem Genius: Holdem Genius was formed by a group of people who realized that poker is a game of skill, a skill that can be improved with access to more information. Holdem Genius was simply formed from a desire to provide people with a tool to make them better poker players.
PokerSoftware.com: Talk about the importance of allowing users to set their own settings like loose and tight play.
HG: As you become a better poker player, you will find yourself in need of more exact advice in certain game play situations. This highly customized tool allows you the ability to set up Holdem Genius so you can get the information you need when you need it.
PokerSoftware.com: What kind of player is Holdem Genius designed for and why? What type of player will find it most useful?
HG: Holdem Genius is designed for the more advanced user who wants to be able to get access to the right advice for their particular playing style. That is why this tool is customizable, as it is made to fit any player’s specific needs.
PokerSoftware.com: What feedback have you received from customers? Has it influenced new features or other components of the software?
HG: We are always open for suggestions from our customers to make the product better. So far, we have had implemented a few new ideas and our customers have given us a lot of positive feedback.
PokerSoftware.com: Talk about the challenges of making Holdem Genius compatible with so many different online poker sites.
HG: Most online poker sites belong to a network and sites in the same network are very similar to one another and can be dealt with in the same way. Given this, we can support hundreds of poker rooms, but only have to deal with about 15 unique networks. When a site updates, so do we. Most of the time, the update does not affect the functionality of Holdem Genius, but from time to time we do have to adapt depending on its “severity.”

HG: It is very satisfying to see that Holdem Genius has been so well-received. The positive responses and suggestions from users help us to further improve the product.
PokerSoftware.com: What future features and updates are in the works?
HG: We are working on adding support for additional online poker sites. Further down the line, we are planning on improving the graphical user interface (GUI) and adding a few more options.

PokerSoftware.com: Can you talk about the development team behind Holdem Genius? Who are they and where does their poker/programming knowledge come from?
HG: It consists mostly of guys who were interested in both software development and online poker playing, so the idea to make something out of the combination of the two interests was a natural step. The knowledge comes from a variety of places like live and online poker experience.
