UnderCover and NoClose: Simple Button Customization with AHK

I think we can all agree that there are at least one or two buttons we wish we could do away with in various software applications, but the clients do not offer anything that allows you to do so.  For mega multi-tablers, there could be several buttons that need to be removed for simplicity’s sake, but you don’t have any options.

How many times have you accidentally clicked the “X” to close your table and not meant to?  You simply mis-clicked the “X” and now you have to deal with a popup asking you if you are sure you want to close the table.  If there were a way to enable or disable the close function of any window and/or remove certain buttons in a poker client, our experience at the table just may be a bit more enjoyable.

Thanks to AutoHotKey (AHK), we have scripts called UnderCover and NoClose that allow you to remove buttons and disable the “close” function of any active window.  If you are a player who likes to keep tabs on your buddies, for example, you might want to remove the “Close” button at the bottom of the player search window on PokerStars because if you close the window, you will have to repopulate your list.  Furthermore, if you want to block yourself from accidentally clicking the “X” to close your table, simply run NoClose and you can’t close the window until you decide to unlock it.

Let’s take a look at how to get started with UnderCover and NoClose:

1) Download NoClose and UnderCover.
2) Copy the scripts into two new .ahk files, save, and close.
3) Right-click the NoClose script and edit the settings to define which key(s) you want to use to enable and disable it.
4) UnderCover is ready to go already, so you won’t have to change any settings.

The default setting for NoClose is “Ctrl 1.”  If you have windows you want to disable the close buttons on, simply point to each and press the Control and number one buttons simultaneously.  The “X’ button will not disappear, but if you click it, nothing will happen.  To enable the close button again, repeat the same process and the window will revert back to normal.  No more dealing with mis-clicking and closing tables!

UnderCover works in a similar manner.  To completely remove a button from a window, simply point to it, press Control, and right-click the mouse simultaneously.  To get the removed button to reappear, you will need to close the window and reopen it.

These are two very easy-to-use scripts that will allow you to customize your software just a bit more than the sites currently allow you to.  The scripts are really easy to set up, so don’t be afraid to dive in and give them a shot.  They are free and just may make your life at the tables easier.

As always, if you have questions, problems, or any other concerns, please make a post in the AHK Forum and we will be there to help.

Forex trading is just like any other fiaiacnnl investment tool. Takes money and some smarts and patience. Although their are a lot of perks with forex trading such as 24 hour trading, largest liquid market, and very high volatility, one should still educate themselves as you would on any type of investment. Unless you just do not care about your money.First I would recommend learning up on some technical analysis. Just search that phrase with forex in front and you will find millions of resources. Then educate yourself up on fundamental influence on the currencies. Everyone finds there own knack at trading the forex market so don't blindly fall into a so called forex guru's marketing trap.

I just wanna say. The guy about me doesn't know much about Forex Trading, but talks as if he's an Advice expert. The Advantage of Forex Trading is it lets you dceide how much margin you are willing to use. If you choose a margin of 100:1 or anything higher, that's gambling. If you choose anything below that margin and play very carefully with your money, you can make some very nice returns. How does 30 percent a week sound? For starters, start out with as little money as possible. Why? You are bound to blow several accounts before you actually get the hang of it. Game accounts are good too, but the only problem with game accounts is you will probably not take it as seriously. Start out with an account of maybe $400. If you profit from there, Great. But even if you lose that money, at least you won't cry over it.I am currently making a consistent 40-50 percent return a month on Forex with a 50:1 margin. THAT's HUGE. If I was trading without margin, that would be about 1percent. LOLX. Improper money management = gambling. Make good use of that margin, and you'll be rich. Just do the math. $2500 x (1.40)^12 = Profit in 1 year.Profit in 1 year x (1.40)^12= MILLIONS.All it takes is two years to become a millionaire in Forex. The only problem is only 10percent of people succeed, the other 90percent fail. Good Luck

Jeremy January 25, 2012 at 11:59 pm Great idea as a soon to be inksoft user this was one of the cocernns I had with only being able to print 4 color jobs and having a client upload something with 6-8 colors. Like Jesse's idea of a suggestion blurb to reduce colors for a better price! http://waxbqm.com ktigvfwqwf [link=http://zegmxp.com]zegmxp[/link]

I had been wondering if you ever cenisdored switching the design of your web site? Its very well written; I enjoy what you have got to state. But maybe you can create a a bit more in the way of written content so people can connect to it better. You have got a great deal of text for only having one or two pictures. Maybe you could space it out better? http://naavhiyifvx.com yantnxonln [link=http://fsnyzmwx.com]fsnyzmwx[/link]
