The 2010 World Series of Poker (WSOP) brought out a bevy of players from all walks of life. Included among them was Team PokerStars Online pro and poker software expert Randy nanonoko Lew, who was seated alongside veteran T.J. Cloutier on Day 1 of the Main Event. PokerSoftware.com caught up with Lew to get his take on the $10,000 buy-in tournament and gauge his future in the industry.

Remember, Lew is no slouch online. He made Supernova Elite in 2008 and 2009 on PokerStars after a mass effort 24-tabling Six-Max cash games. He was the subject of one of the most popular interviews we’ve ever had here on PokerSoftware.com, where Lew discussed his preferred programs online. However, can his wild success online translate to the live arena?

PokerSoftware.com: Talk about representing Team PokerStars Online at the 2010 WSOP Main Event.

Randy Lew: It’s definitely a very big thing for me and I want to play my best to represent Team PokerStars Online. We’re playing a big live tournament, so I want to bring some of the online aspects to the live felt.

PokerSoftware.com: This has to be quite a bit different than multi-tabling online. Can you pay attention to just one table and make it through the Main Event? What has it been like so far?

Randy Lew: Well, I have been using my phone a lot because it’s a little boring out there. I am putting a lot of attention into it and one-tabling is quite a bit different. I can pay attention to a lot of dynamics that I normally wouldn’t be able to at 20 tables.

PokerSoftware.com: Are you recognized in the live arena? Has T.J. Cloutier said hello to you at your table yet?

Randy Lew: I’ve had people come up to me and say, “Hey, congratulations on your results online,” so yes, people do recognize me, but I have a feeling that T.J. has no idea who I am.

PokerSoftware.com: Is it flattering when people congratulate you on your online results?

Randy Lew: It’s definitely flattering and it makes me want to keep on trying hard and keep it up so I can maintain that.

PokerSoftware.com: How long do you think you can keep up this type of volume and also have the same level of success?

Randy Lew: I’m going to try as long as I can. As long as I put the effort in, which I think I’m doing, then I’m going to stay on top of the game and probably keep it up.

PokerSoftware.com: Do you have any good Heads-Up Display (HUD) tips for us?

Randy Lew: Just pay attention to players. That’s the most important thing.
