If you play on the world’s largest online poker site, you’re in luck. PokerStars is set to roll out a software update that will incorporate a handful of new features, including auto buy-ins and enhanced session options. The software will be released by the end of the week if all goes as planned.

Session options will make their debut and include “Sit Out on All Tables,” “Sit Out Next Big Blind on All Tables,” “Resume Play on All Tables,” and “Sit Out Next Big Blind on All Tables and Close Them.” A little colored icon on each of your tables is your ticket to changing these options. The icon will be green if you are seated at every table, yellow when you’re seated at some tables and not at others, and red when you’re sitting out at every table.

PokerStars will also unleash an auto buy-in option that allows you to buy into a table as soon as you take your seat. All you have to do is set your preferences ahead of time in the “Options” menu. If you’re worried about your preferences overriding your ability to buy in for a specific amount at certain tables, PokerStars notes, “Want to buy in as an exception for a different amount? Simply right-click on 'Seat Open' and the traditional buy-in dialog will show up.” See, they’ve though ahead!

Instead of clicking on “Go to Table” from the cash game lobby, you can now select “Seat Me.” This option removes the step of choosing your seat and automatically gets you seated and bought in. In essence, buying in becomes a one-click activity from the cash game lobby. However, if you want position on a player, you won’t want to take advantage of the “Seat Me” option and instead should select your place at the table manually.

The new PokerStars software update also changes the “Sit out Next Blind” label on fast tables to “Sit out Next Big Blind.” This option will also exist in standard tables when the new software is rolled out. Stack options have also been added. Text found on the PokerStars Blog reveals, “PokerStars has added the ability to Stack all your tables in addition to the already existing Cascade and Tile. This feature can be accessed either from ‘View’ in the main lobby, or through the ‘Table Layout’ menu on the table. Shortcut key is Ctrl+8.”

The average stack of players seated will now be displayed in the PokerStars lobby and you can now proudly display that you don’t have the ability to chat if you’ve lost that privilege. If you’re able to chat normally, then the option to display “No Chat” won’t exist for you. Note taking is now more reliable than ever and, for those of you who like to sign up for a bundle of tournaments at once, there will soon be an option to "Remove Me from All Waiting Lists."

That’s quite a mouthful, isn’t it? PokerStars is in the midst of running its annual World Championship of Online Poker, or WCOOP. Eleven of the 2010 WCOOP’s 62 events have been completed. The series will run all the way to September 26th, when the $5,200 No Limit Hold’em Main Event will take place. The tournament, which will span two days, features a ridiculous $10 million guaranteed prize pool. Last year’s champ, Yevgeniy “Jovial Gent” Timoshenko, pocketed $1.7 million for winning the WCOOP Main Event and this year, the winner is guaranteed $2 million.
