PS Mate Poker Hotkey Program Launches

In today’s poker hotkey world, the marketplace is pretty much dominated by Table Ninja and TableNinjaFT, two of the most highly rated programs around. It’s not to say there aren’t alternatives out there, and we might have uncovered a new one in PS Mate, which is a PokerStars multi-tabling utility.  It’s aimed at helping you speed up your actions at the PokerStars tables through the use of hotkeys.  Instead of clicking all over your screen, you can calmly press a single button to handle actions like betting, folding, and calling.

PS Mate works in any language and should be selected for lobby and game tables. You can cycle through your tables, increase your bet sizes, and conduct other table functions through hotkeys and the mouse wheel.  There is even a fast way to register for sit and gos through the use of a single hotkey.

The utility comes with a top panel that has six boxes of information.  The first shows the number of tournaments under registration.  The second shows the number of opened tables.  The third box is the amount of money invested, meaning the total amount of the opened tournaments.  The fourth box shows how many tournaments you have finished, while the fifth box tells how much you have spent buying into finished tournaments. The final box shows you how much money you’ve actually won in those completed tournaments.

The default set of hotkeys allows you to handle regular poker table functions. By default, “A” will fold, “S” will call, and “D” will raise.  For you gamers out there, these keys will be extremely familiar to your left hand.  The “E” key will increase your bet, while “Q” will decrease your bet.  The space bar is set by default to bet all-in, while the right arrow will cycle through tables and the left arrow will cycle back.  The Z, X, and C keys are shortcut buttons that you can configure.

Currently, PS Mate is in Version 1.3.3.7, which was released in the last week of February.  The latest update brought a fix that removed the mouse cursor fluttering when the hotkeys are pressed and shored up some other minor issues.  The first public release of PS Mate was Version 1.3.2.8 and you can download and install the program from the PSMate.com website for free under a fully featured trial edition.

This trial version will let you use the program for three weeks and, after that ends, you’ll have to make a nominal donation to continue using it.  Simply go back to the program’s website, make a donation of  €3.50 (about $5), and you’ll be given a receipt.  Within 24 hours, you will have a registration code.

If you haven’t tried using hotkeys while playing, it’s definitely worth it. We’ve had many coaches, including Taylor “Clean” Lackie, go on record in interviews here at PokerSoftware discussing the merits of using them.
