Timeout Helper Helps You Avoid Missed Poker Hands

If you like to multi-table on PokerStars, then you know how annoying it can be to time out.  If you are in a cash game session, you likely won’t even know about your time outs until you get a popup letting you know you have missed the maximum number of rotations on a table and are then forced to leave.  Timing out is one of the main reasons that some players don’t even try to multi-table because they simply can’t react fast enough.

However, the games are much tougher these days and to make any serious money, players have to either mass multi-table at smaller stakes or play fewer tables at the higher stakes.  With that in mind, let’s take a look at a new AutoHotKey (AHK) script that will help you multi-table more efficiently.

Timeout Helper is a new AHK script for use in tournaments and cash games on PokerStars.  Timeout Helper does exactly what its name implies: it keeps you from missing hands due to time outs.  The two primary functions of the script give you the ability to automatically sit back in if you miss a hand and automatically click your time bank for you when it appears.

Also, if you choose the “Sit Out Next Big Blind” option on any of your tables, the script will not automatically sit you back in.  To take that a step further, the script will also automatically close the tables you choose to “Sit Out Next Big Blind” on when you are finished with them.

To download and install the program, follow these easy steps:

1. Make sure you have AutoHotKey installed.

2. Copy and paste the code into a new .ahk file and name it "Timeout helper.ahk".

3. Double click the file you just created to launch the script.

Timeout Helper has some distinct advantages over other similar scripts out there.  The biggest is that it reads the PokerStars log file, so Timeout Helper works for pre-flop all-ins.  Also, the script doesn’t use pixel scanning to initiate its action, so it will work on any theme on PokerStars.  There are some areas that you can edit if needed, which can be done by right-clicking the .ahk file and choosing “Edit.”

Timeout Helper is certainly a tool that is very useful for players who multi-table.  If you are a sit and go grinder, then you know it’s very tough not to time out.  For the cash game grinder, this tool will give you a lot more time to think about your decisions on each table instead of inta-acting because you are concerned about getting to your next table.
