Poker Community Responds to PokerTracker 4 Development

The announcement of PokerTracker 4 has created quite a resurgence of interest in online poker, as players have been buzzing all week.  PT4 will include a host of new features, reports, and graphs as well as a completely redesigned HUD and hand replayer.

The PT4 design is player-centric, completely designed by the input and suggestions of online poker players looking for a quality data management program.  The launch of PT4 is still in its infancy, as PokerTracker will release a series of videos in the near future.  With them, users can lend their opinions and potentially have their suggestions integrated into the program.

“We will be opening the commenting system on the preview website shortly, as soon as we begin to put our feature-specific videos,” said Steven McLoughlin of the PokerTracker management team on TwoPlusTwo.  “We would really love your feedback when we start to talk about tournament coverage… Let’s make sure we make you happy before we put out the official commercial release!”

While the final product is still months away, players are already noticeably excited about the process of the program’s design and the ability to weigh in with their opinions.  “Well, I thought PokerTracker 2 was great and I must confess that I love PokerTracker 3,” said “Warband9” in the PokerTracker forums. “And the more I use it, the more I realize how good it really is.  I look forward to upgrading to PT4.”

The basic reactions have been met with large outpourings of both optimism and curiosity. On either front, players have been eager to find out the answers to questions like what custom statistics will be available, what pricing will be charged, and what add-on features will be included within PT4.

One of the primary concerns has come from players looking to purchase PokerTracker for the first time, but wanting to wait until the release of its fourth incarnation.  Those concerns are taken care of by the announcement that players purchasing PokerTracker 3 on or after June 12th will receive a free upgrade to PT4 once it is made available to the public.

The regular upgrade price hasn’t been publicized yet, but it has been assured by the staff at PokerTracker that it will be very reasonable for existing owners of PokerTracker 3.

Several people have also asked how they can get on the list to be an alpha tester for the new PT4, and while PokerTracker isn’t accepting unsolicited requests for testers at this time, a public beta program will be available to all users in the coming months.  For now, interested parties can view the new updates and blog posts, as well as see the new weekly videos released at preview.pokertracker.com.
