The fourth installment of PokerTracker 4 is nearing its debut. The latest incarnation, whose beta release is scheduled for the third quarter of 2011 and whose commercial sale will likely start in the first quarter of 2012, is stacked with high-end features. You can read more in our PokerTracker 4 preview. And by the way, an Apple version is due out shortly after the Windows version.

On the PokerTracker forums, players were gearing up for the newest piece of software, which will be introduced nearly concurrently with Holdem Manager 2, which is also due out in beta later this year. One jubilant poster wrote, “I just want to express my satisfaction with PT’s application and its support/development team. Good job guys! I have been using PT for seven years and now looking forward to PT4. My only wish is that software does not become more resource-demanding than PT3!”

Also on the PokerTracker boards, players were weighing in with feature requests. One PokerTracker user listed several stats he wanted to see included in the new version: “I’m hoping to be able to build some stats with PT4 that aren’t possible now like fold to pre-flop 3better with position, or squeeze a steal attempt and BT/SB call from SB/BB, or cold 4bet from BB to a steal, or fold to limp 3bet when RWPC.” PokerTracker staff responded, “All of those should be possible to build in PT4.”

Another poster charged that the user interface of the brand new PokerTracker looked too “simplistic” for his taste: “My initial thoughts are that the new interface looks too simplistic. Can you confirm if all the information currently available in PT3 is going to be able to be found easily in PT4? For example, the information on a player's Details tab in PT3 or the information on the Hands, Tournaments, and Positions tabs? Drilling down is good, but sometimes it’s good to have the full picture presented and not cramped in a small window.”

In case you’re wondering, PokerTracker 4 officials assured the poster that all of that information would be easily accessible.

When asked by one forum user whether the functionality of a program like Leak Buster, a Holdem Manager App, will be included in PokerTracker 4, developers explained, “The tools you need to analyze your game are all included without the need to purchase a third party application. Our goal with many of the new PT4 features was to help you coach yourself.”

Pricing in the thread for existing PokerTracker 3 users was also spelled out. Anyone who purchased PokerTracker 3 after June 10th will get a complimentary upgrade to Version 4. Others will be able to purchase PokerTracker 4 at a “very moderate price.”

Meanwhile, video previews are being rolled out on PokerTracker’s Blog. Two have been released so far, the latest one covering the Vector HUD Engine and Global Graphs. The newest production has a run-time of six minutes and provides the first in-depth look at PokerTracker 4’s very powerful HUD. Check out the first PokerTracker preview video.

Several players in the 2011 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event, which is ongoing from Las Vegas, have been wearing PokerTracker logos. Among them was Shaun Deeb, who has nearly $5 million in tracked tournament cashes on PocketFives.com and was seated at the ESPN feature table on Thursday. Unfortunately, Deeb had aces cracked by A-6 to cripple his stack and busted several hands later.

Also spotted with PokerTracker logos during the WSOP Main Event were Ryan "Pr0tential" Laplante and Ryan Fee.
