PartyPoker Releases Swipe-Based Mobile App

In recent weeks, PartyPoker released a new mobile app called "FastForward: Special Edition." FastForward is the site's fast-fold game and, in case you're wondering what's so special about it, the app uses swipe technology to create a unique game play experience that's perfect for while you're on the go.

In mid-July, PartyPoker officials were calling for volunteers to beta test the "FastForward: Special Edition" software. PartyPoker officials explained how those who opted to test the app can navigate it: "You swipe your cards to fold and swipe your chips to bet or call. You tap the table twice to check and the tap the bet bar once or use the slider to change the value of your bet. You play in vertical mode and can control all aspects of the game with one hand."

The software was built in HTML5, which means it's responsive to whatever screen size and device you're using. As you can probably tell, it's rather revolutionary in focus. PartyPoker explained, "We engineered it specifically for mobile handset users after thinking about how we use these devices – or should use these devices – to play card games. The game is the same, but how you play is nothing at all like on other mobile poker games."

As its name suggests, the app only supports FastForward poker right now. If you're looking for regular PartyPoker cash games, sit and gos, and tournaments, this isn't the app for you.
