PKR Releases New Mobile Update, 3D Desktop Software Coming Soon

Great news for PKR players.  PKR has just released a new mobile update for iOS devices for its 3D poker app.  Whether accidentally or not, the timing of the new release coincides with the site's eighth anniversary.

The upgraded 3D app now includes tournaments on Apple mobile devices.  Both the 2D and 3D apps were already supporting cash games and sit and gos and the 2D app was supporting tournaments.  PKR also already has a few apps for iOS and Android devices for various casino games and sports wagering.

The more serious player may not care about this since they were happy playing tournaments at PKR on the 2D app; however, this really should benefit everyone.  Recreational players tend to love the rich, realistic graphics of PKR's 3D app and will be more likely to play tournaments while on the go or watching television for the entertainment value it provides.

PKR's Jez San reiterated this when explaining to CalvinAyre's Rebecca Liggero about the importance of having a recreational-minded poker app at PKR, saying, "PKR is about having fun and being sociable.  Everybody is now using their mobile phones and tablets to play games. Some of them are even second screening – they watch TV and, at the same time, have their iPad or iPhone on their lap."

Currently, the upgraded 3D mobile app is not available in all countries.  At the moment, only players in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and a few other European countries can use it.  It is also not yet available on Android or palmtop devices.  If the upgraded 3D app has not been made available where you live, you can still enjoy tournaments on your 2D app while waiting for the latest and greatest at PKR to come to the palm of your own hand.

While an exact date is unknown, PKR Poker believes its 3D app will be upgraded for Android and palmtop devices within a few months.

Perhaps even sooner, we will see the unveiling of new 3D desktop software.  The new desktop software is expected to be the biggest change to PKR's award-winning software since it first opened its doors for business.  If everything stays on track, we should expect to be able to preview the new desktop software sometime in September 2014.

While not software-related, PKR is very excited about launching a new forum in the very near future.  The forum should be of use to all players whether they use it or not because it should have a community-type feel, making casual and recreational players more likely to continue playing at PKR instead of somewhere elsewhere.  Visit PKR for more!
