Rush Poker Celebrates Fifth Anniversary

It's hard to believe that in January 2015, Full Tilt Poker celebrated its fifth anniversary for introducing the fast-fold poker game Rush Poker, which revolutionized the online cash game ecosystem.

What players love about fast-fold poker is the non-stop action since every time a poker player folds a hand, even out of turn, he is brought to a brand new table with new opponents.  Fast-fold eliminates sharks using seating scripts to find the weakest players, giving them a better chance to win since they are not being targeted.  Since there is no game flow strategy possible in fast-fold-style games, many players use a HUD such as PokerTracker 4 and Hold'em Manager 2 to have at least some information about their opponents.

For many years, Full Tilt was the only site you could play fast-fold poker at.  In the past few years, we have seen other sites copy the success Full Tilt had with these games by creating their own versions.

Just about every online poker room has its own variety of fast-fold poker, each with different names but pretty much the same playing experience.  Full Tilt's sister site, PokerStars, calls its fast-fold style game Zoom, 888 Poker named its Snap, iPoker features Speed Poker, Winamax calls its game Go Fast, Ongame features Strobe, and Microgaming features Blaze.

Although Full Tilt is no longer the only site to host a fast-fold style poker game, it has taken this concept to a new level via two methods.  First, not only does Full Tilt offer Rush Poker in cash games, it also offers fast-fold tournaments and sit and gos, which is quite uncommon.

The tournaments play similar to cash games until the final table is reached and players can no longer shuffle tables due to there being only one table left in play.  Sit-n-go's have a cool On Demand feature which basically starts the tournament when a minimal amount of players are reached and allows for late registration growing the prize pool as new players get into the action.

The second way Full Tilt differentiates itself in the world of fast-fold poker is offering a new and innovative game called Adrenaline Rush Poker.  It starts off similar to Rush Poker except there are four players at the table instead of the traditional six or nine.  What makes this game unique is the fact that players are capped at ten big blinds per hand and all of the action is pre-flop, with the only two choices each player has: raise or fold, unless the cap is already reached, in which case the two options are call or fold.

Fast-fold poker is a game-changer for each site that hosts the games, especially at Full Tilt.  According to PokerScout, 45% of all cash ring games being currently played on Full Tilt are Rush Poker.

Happy fifth anniversary to Rush Poker.  Whether you are a fan of fast-fold poker or not, the games appear to be here to stay.
