How NoteCaddy Edge is Handling the Recent Software Policy Changes

Recently, PokerStars and Full Tilt announced changes to their rules concerning third-party software that limits some of the most advanced programs available.  This is on top of another leading online poker site, PartyPoker, making the decision to prohibit HUDs and seat scripting software entirely.

While there is little software providers can do about PartyPoker's decision, many third-party developers were able to continue supporting PokerStars and Full Tilt by making some modifications and/or disabling certain features.

Perhaps most notable is NoteCaddy Edge, whose software has helped thousands of players by providing a huge number of details regarding the playing styles of their opponents.  If you aren't familiar with this software, it is an add-on to Hold'em Manager 2 and NoteCaddy Premium and has software packages available for ring games, sit and gos, and tournaments.  Also, there are packages that are suitable for both No Limit Hold'em and Pot Limit Omaha players.

In order to get full use of the software, players will have to play at an online poker network that doesn't have restrictions on what types of stats and information a HUD can provide such as 888 Poker, any skin on the iPoker Network, any skin on the Ongame Network, and Winamax.

This doesn't mean that the software will not work with PokerStars or Full Tilt, as most of the useful information will still work there; however, certain features had to be disabled in order to remain compliant with the new rules these sites have established.

A NoteCaddy Edge user doesn't need to do anything to disable the features that are restricted on Stars/FTP, as HM2 and NoteCaddy will automatically do this for them if they update past HM2 Version .8379.

Some of the features no longer available for live play on PokerStars and Full Tilt include badges, spark graphs, heat maps, scatter graphs, note definitions that have a board texture, and note definitions that are defined by range.

That being said, most of the statistics provided by the software will still work during live play.  In other words, NoteCaddy Edge is maximizing the amount of information players can still receive on their opponents under the new rules at Full Tilt and PokerStars.  Additionally, NoteCaddy Edge is still allowed to show the exact hands that someone took certain types of action with in the past.

Also of note is that regardless of where you have played your hands, if you have imported them into your Hold'em Manager 2 database, you will be able to make full use of all of the features of NoteCaddy Edge in your HUD.  This is great for study purposes and for players to review their play to make sure they made the right moves in the right spots.

Also, as previously mentioned, just because certain features are disabled while playing on PokerStars and Full Tilt, players can still make use of these features on other networks supported by Hold'em Manager 2.  This means a player can play on PokerStars and receive the maximum amount of information allowed by the site's terms of service and simultaneously receive more functionality as allowed as per another site's terms of service.

We were also informed by NoteCaddy Edge that they plan to release a new HUD in the coming weeks, with more details to come soon.

If you want to maximize the amount of information you are currently allowed to receive on your opponents, regardless of the poker network you play on, check out NoteCaddy Edge.  You can rest assured that not only will you have tons of information at your fingertips, but that the software is perfectly allowed on each and every network it supports.
