Cash Game Festival Online Takes Twitch to a New Dimension

The first-ever Cash Game Festival Online is taking place on the iPoker Network from Oct. 24-30. What is cool about this festival from a software perspective is that for the first-time we are aware of, the Cash Game Festival will be streaming entire tables from the perspective of different players.

When you typically see live streaming on Twitch for live events, you see the hole cards for every player. This is also true during the typical Cash Game Festival live events. This allows the commentators to have an inside look on the action providing a much more entertaining broadcast than if there were no hole cards shown.

However, utilizing this concept isn’t possible online due to security concerns. After the huge super user scandals many years ago on Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker, reputable online poker rooms do not have the capability for anyone to stream everyone’s hole cards.

The Cash Game Festival Online found a unique solution to this. During the event 30 individual streamers will be twitching on a five minute delay across more than a dozen poker clients including bet365 Poker, William Hill Poker, and Titan Poker on their Twitch channels, the Cash Game Festival Twitch channel, and a variety of media outlets. That doesn’t sound too unique other than the volume of players doing individual one hour streams at different times.

Where it is different is that from Monday through Friday at 10 p.m. UK time, six streamers will also be competing against each other on a password protected iPoker table. Each player will be streaming their own action on their own tables on a five minute delay.

However, the commentators on the Cash Game Festival Channel, Brandon Allen and Enri Orav, will be able to access all of the streams and therefore have access to all the hole cards. This means similar to a live game, the commentators have insight into what everyone is holding and doing versus commentating more in the blind without knowing any hole cards.

The commentators will also be showing in the video one of the Twitch streams from one of the players and then toggle to another player at another time.

Each day’s big winner on the cash game table, will go onto a final feature table on Saturday at 10 p.m. where they will be competing for a Cash Game Festival package valued at €2,000 for Tallinn, Estonia from Nov. 16-20.

On Sunday, the feature table is dedicated to bet365 Poker where six players will be broadcasting six-plus hold’em. The same concept applies where each streamer will commentate on their channels their play while on the Cash Game Festival channel the commentators will toggle between streamers to show different views at different times to talk about.

This concept should use the Twitch software in a unique environment. However, in addition to players being able to see something new, they are able to compete in their own missions to win one of more than 20 Cash Game Festival Tallinn packages as well. Many of the promotions took place leading up to the event, however, the biggest ones are yet to come including daily €2,000 freerolls and a €20K Cash Game Festival freeroll on October 30 where the top five players will be awarded a Tallinn package and 100 players take home €100 each.
