Microgaming Unveils New Mac Poker Client

It is 2016, and believe it or not all online poker rooms have a downloadable poker client dedicated to the Mac. One of the first to launch a Mac client in Ongame shut down its doors this month with many of the poker clients operating on the network fleeing to other networks, most notably Microgaming Poker Network.

Speaking of Microgaming Poker Network, they are joining the club by launching a fairly robust downloadble poker client for the Mac across the 27 different clients that operate on the network. Those interested in checking it out, you can download Guts.com to see all the great features as a test-run is being conducted on that poker client as we speak.

From what we understand, the Mac poker client test run appears to be a success on Guts.com, and we should see it rolled out within a short period of time to every poker client on the network.

Microgaming Poker Network has made some strides over the past year and is now in eighth place on the PokerScout Online Poker traffic report with 850 players seated at tables based off a seven day rolling average. This puts the network right in the middle of the pack with second-tier poker networks placing them just 150 seats behind Winamax and PokerStars Italy who each boast 1,000 players off a seven day rolling average.

In addition, Microgaming Poker Network is making some huge strides on tournaments as well. While tournament data is not publically disclosed, it is clearly visible that tournaments have more entries than before. To help pump this further, last week Microgaming Poker Network revamped its online poker tournament schedule to include many new tournaments with titles taken from their casino games with lofty guarantees.

In a time where we see most networks declining, it is refreshing to see the attention that Microgaming Poker Network places on poker with it being one of the rare exceptions along with Unibet Poker to be a major site bucking the trend of a decline in traffic by showing growth.

While some of this growth is believe to be organic in nature, it also helps that Microgaming Poker Network is expanding its identity by adding more and more poker clients including PKR Poker who moved from an independent network to part of the group and RedKings Poker which was previously operating on Ongame.

One of the reasons attributed to the organic growth is the network's dedication to recreational players. To help combat the use of seating scripts and HUDs, the site now allows players to change their screennames as often as every 1,000 hands or 30 days, whichever comes first.
