One area where Bodog is lacking is in the cashier department. Since it also operates a sports book which is illegal in the United States, Bodog often has issues with getting and keeping payment processors. If you are from the U.S., your withdrawal options are somewhat limited and can take some time to go through. Deposits are fast and easy, though, so if you have the itch to start playing, you won’t have any problem scratching it.
Bodog Poker Software and Features
Bodog’s software is best described as "unique." Some people love it, some people hate it, and there is not a lot of middle ground. Bodog tries to appeal mostly to casual players, so if you are used to bare bones 20 tabling grinding, then you will be sorely disappointed. If you are more of a recreational player or only want to play a few tables at a time, then you might really like the Bodog software. The lobby is divided nicely into tabbed sections for different game types or there is a “QuickSeat” tool that lets you select what kind of game you want to play and puts you right onto a table.
Bodog offers all the standard options you would expect, such as a four color deck and different display options for what data appears on the table. You can also switch between a “picture in picture” mini view for playing up to three tables in the same window and the normal separate windows you are used to. Tables are resizable and you can even change the color of the felt on the table. Action is fast and smooth.
There are a fair number of tournaments offered at Bodog. Single table tournament traffic is decent for small- to mid-stakes but the high stakes games are pretty empty. Multi table tournaments are offered throughout the day at a variety of buy-in amount and game types. You can often find overlay in their guaranteed prize pool tournaments, which is a nice extra value if you enjoy a good donkament.
