CakePoker.com Full Review
The USA-friendly Cake Poker isn't on the same level as PokerStars or Full Tilt Poker, but it does have a lot to offer as a secondary site.
Games
The main draw of Cake Poker is the extremely soft mid-stakes cash games, which are often overflowing with fish. The action certainly isn't as furious as the top-tier sites, but with proper and patient table selection, good players should be able to pummel Cake Poker.
Over the last few months, Cake Poker has made a concentrated effort to become a relevant MTT site. The schedule actually isn't half bad, but the guarantees are paltry at best. However, the field sizes are usually small and thus offer better value than the minefields at the bigger sites.
Support
The customer support at Cake Poker is some of the best in the industry. It is only available via e-mail, but it is not uncommon to receive a response in less than 15 minutes. The customer service agents are knowledgeable and it is easy to tell how important customer satisfaction is. In addition to excellent customer support, Cake Poker provides numerous promotions to its customers. These include freerolls, tournaments that often have overlays, and cash prizes for random Gold Cards that are given out during cash game play.
Software
Cake Poker’s software can best be described as "functional." It has all of the standard features that one would expect an online poker site to have, but lacks many of the flairs that the older and more developed sites have. There are resizable tables, instant hand histories, and a few display options such as a four-color deck and various bet amounts. The lack of other “fancy” features makes Cake Poker less attractive to multi-tabling professionals and, as a result, the games are often juicier than you might find at a site like PokerStars. The lobby is well laid out, but is missing filtering capabilities beyond game type. You can sort the lobby based on a number of criteria, but it has an annoying habit of reverting to sorting by the number of seated players. Again, it can be best described as functional, but definitely not elegant.

Bonuses
Cake Poker offers a fairly standard, but worthwhile 110% deposit bonus up to $600, which is released into your account in $10 increments at a rate of $0.06 per FPP.
Cake Poker recently unveiled a new rewards program that has no redeeming process whatsoever. In the Gold Stacks rewards program, all bonuses are released instantly the moment you earn them. Gold Chips, which you earn to build Gold Stacks, are collected by playing ring games and tournaments. Additionally, Cake Poker runs daily, weekly, and monthly freerolls, as well as numerous other promotions.
If you are willing to tolerate the usable software and occasional annoyance, then you will be rewarded with excellent customer service, generous player benefits, and a selection of fishy games.
