Post Hold'em Manager or Poker Academy Prospector

I have used Pokersharpener in the past but it stopped working recently and i haven't be able to get it going right since. I think the hand history database grew too large. The HUD stopped a long time ago but i liked the money tracking.

I am now looking to replace it with a program that will help me find leaks in my game, keep track of profit and loss, track opponents, and just help me play better be a more consistant winner.

I usually play on Pokerstars and Fulltilt. I am mostly a tounrament and multi-table SNG player, but would like to also play more single table SNG's and cash games more profitably but this is secondary.

Hold'em Manager and Poker Acadamy Prospector seem to be the 2 I am thinking of getting. Which one would you think is best for me without slowing my computer to a crawl? Or any other program?

I am currently running Microsoft XP 2002, Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.00 GHZ, 2.99 GHZ, 0.99 GB of RAM. My hard drive of 37.2 GB has 13.6 GM free space left.

Also, any suggestions for what to upgrade my next computer to would be helpful, too!

Thank you

Tracker wise I would recommend going with Holdem Manager. Poker Academy Prospector does not have a HUD as of right now. They have been working on a new version of the software for some time but I do not know when it will be released or what features it will have.

Holdem Manager will do everything you need it to do and it should run fine on your computer. The only issue you might have is that the tournament support isn't awesome. You might want to also check out Tourney Manager made by the same guy: http://www.pokersoftware.com/tourney-manager/ It is a good product and complements HEM nicely with extra tournament tracking and analysis.

Computer wise, it sounds like you have a pretty good setup. The only thing I would really recommend doing is adding another gigabyte of RAM. It is so cheap these days and offers such a performance increase there is really very little reason not to have at least 2gb in your machine.
