Post SharpStats v1.0-- Tracker for Cake, Merge, FTP and Stars

Please visit the last page of this thread for the latest version or visit http://sharpstats.ucoz.com/

**Original post follows**
Newest version can be downloaded here.
I am proud to introduce the newest beta version of Cake Personal Statistics Tracker.
Image
View your playing stats from several different points of view.

Image
Image
Track your tournament and cash game wins and losses.

Image
Import your hand histories from up to 5 skins at once.
Support for Hold'Em and Omaha.

Download from here
Requirements:
Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 or higher
PostgreSQL -- download and install from http://www.postgresql.org

Under Windows Vista, it is recommend that CPST be run in Administrator mode.

No installation is necessary. Just unzip CPST into a folder and go.

Notes:
This program is intended to track your personal statistics only. No information is collected on players at your tables.
In adherence to Cake's Terms of Service, CPST will run a periodic check to ensure that no Cake client software is running while CPST is running. Since you may want to enter tournament results while still logged onto Cake, I have included a stand-alone version of SharpProfit Tournament.
The query files that CPST uses are customizable. Just edit any of the .que files with notepad to make changes to the information you see. (In the future, I hope to make these customizable within the software itself)
While I have no problems importing my personal 1500+ hand history files, this software is still in beta and problems may arise. Please feel free to contact me if you have any problem files.
Because kamikaze tournaments/SnGs can negatively impact your statistics, CPST will not import these hand histories.

Thanks for taking a look. I will be posting a quick "beginner's guide to getting started" in the near future.

I welcome any and all comments, suggestions, bug reports and complaints.

Post Re: New Software: Cake Personal Statistics Tracker

I track all my stats on Cake by using the Cake Hand coverter which then loads all my hands into Pokertracker 3 which then allows me to filter any stats as I want.I like the look of this new software but cant see (at first glance) if it offers me anything new......

There are several advantages to using CPST over the hand converter:
1. One click importing -- no need to go through a two-step process to import your HHs
2. Faster imports -- since CPST only collects stats on "hero", it can import hands faster than PT3 or HeM
3. No need to change HHs by hand when two players at your table have the same first four letters in their screen name
4. Tournament HH support -- unless I've missed something, neither of the hand converters supports tournament hand histories
5. No need to set up a new alias every time you change your screen name
6. Included Omaha support -- if you only play Omaha occasionally but still want to track stats and wins/losses, you don't have to pay another $45 to do so

Basically, if you strictly play cash games, don't mind editting HHs from time to time, already own PT/HeM, and are happy with the hand converter CPST doesn't offer anything new to you. However, I feel that there are a lot of people who don't fit this description.

Thanks,

Unfortunately, no. I am not familiar enough with PT's database structure to be able to do that. You would have to import all of your original Cake HHs.

Yeah, this is caused by not initializing the database first. There will be a beginner's guide that goes over the initial setup included with the next version. For now, follow these steps:
1. Go to the "Configuration/Import" tab
2. Make sure that all of the fields in the database section are filled out (they should be since you would get a different error message if they weren't)
3. Click the "Test Connection" button. If the test is successfull, click the "Yes" button on the pop-up to save the database settings.
4. Click the "Initialize Database" button. There are two errors that you might get. Here's what to do for each:
a. if you get a "Could not find C:\xxx\dbSetup.que" file, copy the dbSetup.que file from the xxx\Queries\Backup folder into the main folder where CPST is installed. (xxx=the folder where the Cake Personal Statistics Tracker.exe file is located). Restart CPST and try #4 again (the misplacement of this file is a known bug that is fixed in the next version)
b. If you get an error message similar to "Database already exists or login information is incorrect", close the error pop-up, and click the "Reset Database" button. It'll ask you to confirm, so click "Yes". Try #4 again.

If everything goes right, you're hard drive will chug for several seconds and then you'll get a pop-up saying that the initialization is complete. If your folders are setup correctly, you are now ready to start importing your hand histories. If you are still having problems, please let me know.

Thanks,

I'm trying to run the software to but cant import anything.Tried to follow instructions above but even when I put a password in the database section box I still get an error message about an "Unhandled exception error".

I'm not computer savvy and a step by step set of instructions from download to working order would be good.

I take it I didnt have to download postgresSQL as I already have this as a PokerTracker 3 user.

Help appreciated am interested in software as I am having issues with the Cake Hand Converter.

Beta 2 is now available here.

Updates for this version:
--fixed three non-fatal bugs (dbSetup error, full-import bug, and a security check bug)
--added a stats filter so that you can choose which stats you see
--revamped import engine greatly reduces the import time
--Revised IRS Report allows you to view the report before saving it

I have also included a beginner's guide to get you started with the configuration.

Indian_Skimmer--please download this new version and unzip directly to your desktop.
Goto Start-->All Programs-->PostgreSQL x.x-->Application Stack Builder
Choose your server from the drop-down list and click "Next"
Expand the "Database Drivers" node, put a check in the Npgsql v1.0.0, and click "Next"
Choose a download mirror and click "Next"
Click "Next" two more times and the driver will be installed
If you are running Windows Vista, right-click the Cake Personal Statistics Tracker.exe file and choose "Run as administrator"
From here, open up the CPST Beginner's Guide.htm file in the CPST folder and follow its instructions

If you are still having problems, post the error message and when it happens here.

Thanks,
