 Odd's Tried and Tried. Hold-em
maikl10 Off and on over the last year I have been looking for a way to figure out unique poker odds. Tons and tons of info everywhere, but.
Specifically: casinosviplounge.com/mobile-casino-articles.html
Royal Str8 F Str8 Quads
When two of the cards have to be in your hand, and any three off the board. Question revolves around home games where guys rake for
bonuses and come up with what I think are incredibly high profit margins by requiring that 1 or 2 cards have to be in your hand.
So question is what are the odds of a Royal when 2 of 7 cards must be in your hand? Same question when 1 has to be in your hand.
Also for str8 flush and quads.
Thanks so much

I'm unsure how to calculate the odds for these, but here's a link to a poker odds page. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poker_probabilityHopefully another poster on this forum will be able to provide the odds for these situations.

Re: Odd's Tried and Tried. Hold-em
The odds of getting a royal flush using both hole cards is 1 in 64974.
4*C(5,2)/C(52,2)*C(47,2)/C(50,5) = 1/ 64,974 ~ 0.000015390
Or odds of 64,973:1
If you need to use at least one hole card, it would be exactly twice as likely, 32,486:1.
Using either 0,1, or 2 hole cards only adds the case where the royal is completely on the board, so it only increases to 30,939:1.
I hope that helps.

Re: Odd's Tried and Tried. Hold-em
thanks for bringing this up because i was curious myself with regards to the bad beat jackpots. the couple i've played have a lower min hand at quad 8's. so then all the four of a kind's 8..9..10..J..Q..K..A = 7 possible straight flush's A2345.......10JQKA 10 per suite =40
with the rules stating both hole cards from each player must be used and with the five board cards the possibilities are: any str. flush A 2 ..3 4 5 any quad 8 8...8 8 independent of each other or sharing a card as in the 4 of a kind sharing an 8 through Ace. i just wanted to know how to compute the pot odds so i could post up it.s now at $220,000, it appears that there is two long shot odds and if i'm figurin right a third that describes the occurrence of both together, and that's bout where my brain wants to pull in to the rest stop. i'm going to look at jackpot histories and see if any rhythm to jackpot size. the draw out was for my feeble brain and curious how far out i am. I just had this crazy idea that it was like a hand calculation for the pot in a game only supersized. mel "pokerwood88" woods

Re: Odd's Tried and Tried. Hold-em
thanks for the link dhubermex and the info chippingaway, the trouble is i am not mit literate, don't read greek, and sklansky isn't one of my fav circle of five..... so i came up with this: odds of hitting badbeat jackpot...alot (if you play) and...none (if you don't)
