Poker Push Bot Synopsis
Poker Push Bot is a small software program for Windows PCs that assists players in examining situations of whether to go all-in pre-flop or fold. This skill is vitally important when playing in single- or multi-table tournaments and can mean all the difference in your ROI. This spiffy little program helps you put in a list of pertinent variables and quickly determine what the right move is based on mathematical calculations.
Poker Push Bot Full Review
Contrary to its name, this is not a "bot" program, but rather a useful little tool that comes cheap and can mean a big difference in improving your tournament ROI. Inflection (push or fold) strategy is a key concept in winning poker and allows you to realize when it's time to shove the chips in or fold. This program allows you to enter different variables regarding situational tournament play and receive a very quick response of what the right action would be.
The program's cost of $15 is relatively cheap, but seems appropriate given that it's mainly just a small tool that saves a lot of time when analyzing hands. It comes as a downloadable file that installs in just seconds and runs with minimal system resource requirements. Once the program is open, you'll be ready to enter tournament conditions to analyze: stack size, big blind, ante, number of players at the table, your hand, left to act, and calling range (seen below):

As soon as you've hit the "Calculate" button, you'll receive two pieces of information. The first is the “Break-Even M” and the second is "Your Effective M," with the boxes colored in either red or green. M is defined as your stack divided by the total pot before any action has taken place and is considered a very important tournament concept. If the number comes up in a green box, you should be shoving that hand in that situation. If it is red, it's time to fold and wait for a better situation. Here is a look at the calculator:

Poker Push Bot has received some very solid testimonials from players:
“Poker Push Bot has helped me review and fine-tune my 'All-in or Fold' game. It is a must-have for any serious MTT poker player.”
“Poker Push Bot is a great program that teaches novice players and fine-tunes pushing ranges for advanced players. It is a valuable tool for any serious MTT player and will teach you how to push that small edge one needs to be successful."
Players should be aware that they should not be using this program while actively playing in a tournament, as it would potentially violate the Terms of Service of an online poker site. Instead, it is aimed at making players more efficient and aware of their M so that they can make better decisions in the future. For the low cost, this seems like a handy utility that saves a lot of time over a manually created Excel spreadsheet. If you are a tournament player, then Poker Push Bot just might be a little treasure to make a lot of money.
Interview with Poker Push Bot developers
PokerSoftware.com: Explain the development of Poker Push Bot.
Poker Push Bot: The program was developed using meta-mathematical formulas for chip equity. I had been using the pushbot charts that can be found online and decided the calling ranges were not up-to-date and did not give me enough options to accurately assign a calling range to my opponents. I built new charts with new calling ranges in a very in-depth spreadsheet and decided that it deserved a nice package and user interface, so I built the Poker Push Bot application.
PokerSoftware.com: What feedback have you received from users so far?
Poker Push Bot: I’ve had very positive feedback. Just like all new projects, there were a few bugs before we officially launched, but things have been very smooth since. Everyone who uses it seems to really like it. The good feedback I am most proud of is that from some of the top online pros that beta tested for me.
PokerSoftware.com: Why are programs like Poker Push Bot important to becoming a successful poker player?
Poker Push Bot: Inflection point strategy, also known as all-in/fold or pushbot strategy, has long been talked about as the single most important thing to know to achieve MTT and STT success. I always thought it was funny that tournament decisions at some point become just straight math and people still argue about what the correct decisions is. I figure, let's plug in the numbers and see what the correct decision is.
PokerSoftware.com: Explain some of the major features of the program.
Poker Push Bot: It is a very simple program and that is the beauty of it. It does exactly what it was designed to do: help players learn correct all-in or fold strategy in MTTs and STTs. The program works with chip equity to keep things simple and has a hand selection tool as well as a calling range selection tool, so you can quickly and accurately assess a situation. The calling range tool is where most of the value lies when comparing this program to charts found online. Poker Push Bot allows users to select from nine different villain calling ranges for accurate analysis; the charts I've seen usually only have three different ranges.
PokerSoftware.com: What features or other developments are you looking to add in the future?
Poker Push Bot: We're looking to build a Mac version of the program as well as an iPhone app. Also, a big feature we are looking into right now is developing totally dynamic calling ranges so users can define any calling range they wish.
PokerSoftware.com: Explain your poker background.
PokerSoftware.com: I have been playing poker for around eight years. I have experience in all different forms, but my main focus over the years has been No Limit Hold’em MTTs and STTs. I’ve read anything I could get my hands on poker-related and have always been very interested in game theory and math.
PokerSoftware.com: Is there anything else you'd like to add?
Poker Push Bot: This project has been really fun and I think we have brought the poker community a great value at our price point. We are always looking for ways to improve our software, so please don't hesitate to drop me a line (ben@pokerpushbot.com) if you have any suggestions or comments.
