Table selection software is becoming as commonplace in the online poker industry as tracking programs. Players are actively searching for tables that fit their needs rather than opening up a random set. Poker Pro Labs has introduced Table Shark, which works on most of the major online poker rooms and can even be tied into your PokerTracker or Holdem Manager database to provide stats.
Installing Table Shark is extremely easy and for people on the fence whether or not to use it, there is a free trial period that allows full use of the program. Once you load it up for the first time, it will automatically synch itself with your PostgreSQL database, which is used both by PokerTracker and Holdem Manager. Once it's imported all of the information (this can take a while for large databases), there are tabs that appear at the bottom of the search area that give more detailed information about player and cumulative table stats. The search feature works extremely fast and ranks tables based on their average pot, players to the flop percentage, and number of hands per hour. The cross-referenced search against a database is much more helpful and gives insight to what tables to look at and play. Since there is no centralized database of stats, poker rooms should be okay with the use of Table Shark, which ranks as an extremely solid table selection utility:
