The CEREUS Network is the seventh largest worldwide in terms of cash game traffic, according to PokerScout.com. The player bases of Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet were merged to form the Network back in November. Now, the latter online poker site has rolled out a bevy of changes to its software, including the addition of ante games, a special final table view, and pop-up notifications for online poker tournaments. Ultimate Bet and its sister room gladly accept customers from the United States and you can even earn 30% rakeback through PokerSoftware.com.

Ante games have become all the rage across the world’s largest online poker sites. Several networks have recently introduced antes into tournaments, creating a brand new game dynamic. At Ultimate Bet, players are growing accustomed to competing in ante games, which require a contribution from every player pre-flop. In addition, the small blind and big blind are paid as normal. The presence of antes means that much more money is in the pot to begin with, leading to richer hands and more action. In a Limit game, antes result in a sizable jump in participation prior to the flop, with marginal hands becoming much more attractive. Televised shows like GSN’s “High Stakes Poker” have helped popularize antes much to the delight of fans of the game everywhere.

The final table view has been implemented for multi-table tournaments, beginning with the May 17th installment of the weekly $100,000 Guaranteed. Ultimate Bet is confident that the new view will blow the socks off its players. The site’s official blog claims, “The final table is the stuff of fantasies and you’ll agree that it looks fantastic. The new look is unbelievable. We’re sure the blogosphere will be abuzz about our unique new look.” Newcomers to poker are easily hooked on avatars and other cartoon-like additions to the game. However, experienced poker players will be drawn to Ultimate Bet if the final table view proves to be truly revolutionary. Only time will tell how popular this new feature rolled out as part of Ultimate Bet’s update becomes.

Another new addition to Ultimate Bet is pop-up notifications for tournaments. If your computer crashes, restarts, or otherwise goes haywire, pop-ups will direct you to tournaments you’re entered in that are currently in progress, saving you the hassle of having to click through the lobby manually. The tables themselves will actually load right onto your screen automatically, meaning that you’ll be back in the fray in no time (although you’ll probably be required to sit back in). This is also a useful feature if you have to change computers.

Four-max games are now a part of Ultimate Bet's poker offering. I've been wanting these for some time and they are being welcomed with open arms by players on the Tokwiro-owned online poker room. Four-max games allow for more action and a near heads-up experience. You'll find events in high-stakes tournament series incorporating the four-max format, so head to Ultimate Bet today and try your luck!

Other recent updates on Ultimate Bet, which is fronted by 11-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth and Celebrity Apprentice runner up Annie Duke, include the client ensuring that everyone on the wait list for a tournament has sufficient funds to enter. In addition, the “Fold and Show” option can now be completely disabled from the “Options” menu. Yes, that means you can’t show off that bluff to your opponent heads-up, so make sure you really want to disable the feature before going through with it. Finally, Lobby Clock ghosting was eliminated, resulting in players always knowing exactly what time it is without having to consult their computer’s timekeeping.

We offer 30% rakeback on Ultimate Bet for users of PokerSoftware.com. You can also receive a 111% up to $1,100 sign-up bonus, among the most generous in the industry. Raking $500 on any site that we work with allows you to take home free poker software such as Hold’em Manager, PokerTracker, Poker Copilot, and more. We’ll see you on the felts!
