Recently, the Wireless Poker Controller hit the marketplace after months of speculation. Turning online poker into a game of MarioKart, the Wireless Poker Controller has received much fanfare since it was released for pre-sale in early June. It’s a simple way to help any player multi-table online faster with fewer errors. PokerSoftware.com sat down with Nissim, the Business Development Manager for Poker Controls Limited, to learn more about its introduction.

PokerSoftware.com: How good does it feel to bring the Wireless Poker Controller to market?

Nissim: Everyone at Poker Controls is overly excited for the imminent release of the Wireless Poker Controller! It is the first time that we have ever had such a huge following in the online poker market.

PokerSoftware.com: The product is priced at $79.99. Talk about reaching that price point.

Nissim: The Wireless Poker Controller has a price point that enables us to produce a very high quality, robust, and desirable device that is accessible to poker players of all levels. We believe that the price point makes our product a clear winner with poker players across the globe and we worked hard to ensure that the price was competitive.

PokerSoftware.com: What was the biggest challenge down the stretch to roll out the Wireless Poker Controller?

Nissim: The biggest challenge was developing a product that manages to alleviate common known issues from using a mouse. It was also a complex task to develop software that was compatible with all of the major sites. The on-site research and development team worked day and night to overcome these initial issues and have helped us produce the finished product that you see today.

PokerSoftware.com: Can you share some of the technical highlights?

Nissim: The Wireless Poker Controller is a 2.4 GHz Wireless device that connects to a PC using a USB Wireless Receiver. The Wireless Poker Controller uses encrypted signals to send information to the USB receiver. Then, the signals are deciphered by the Poker Controls Software Application to translate the commands onto the poker room of choice.

Once the user plugs the USB Receiver into their PC, the drivers for the Poker Controller are automatically installed. Then, users simply need to install the Poker Controls Software Application that is supplied with the Wireless Poker Controller.

The initial release of the Wireless Poker Controller will provide compatibility for the following online poker rooms: PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker, PartyPoker, Pacific Poker, Ultimate Bet, Everest Poker, Titan Poker, and Paradise Poker. The player will then receive a series of automatic updates when new rooms are added. We anticipate that the software will be compatible with all of the known and available poker rooms within six months.

PokerSoftware.com: Is there a next generation of the Wireless Poker Controller in the works already?

Nissim: Yes! Unfortunately, I cannot tell you too much about it right now. All I can say is the product is continually being advanced with new functionality and features.

PokerSoftware.com: Are there any add-ons in the works?

Nissim: An A/C Power Cable will be the latest add-on for the Wireless Poker Controller, meaning that you can play without needing to recharge the batteries at any time. There are many add-ons on the horizon, including an LCD screen for statistics and fingerprint login.

PokerSoftware.com: Are there any pre-order numbers you can share?

Nissim: We have sold many more units than we originally anticipated. We had over 30,000 players pre-registered for the product at the end of May. Since we launched pre-ordering, the numbers have increased drastically.

PokerSoftware.com: When will the Wireless Poker Controller be shipped to those who have pre-ordered it?

Nissim: The Poker Controller has a 60 to 90 day worldwide delivery currently, but we expect to be able to reduce the time frame considerably. Starting in September, it will be a standard three to five day delivery. Shipping and tax are not included in the $79.99 fee.

PokerSoftware.com: Our sense was that beginning poker players would be drawn to the Wireless Poker Controller because it has a video game feel. However, serious multi-tablers will undoubtedly find it useful as well. What groups did you test it on and what was their feedback?

Nissim: We found that the Wireless Poker Controller appealed to different groups of players. The beginners like it, as it was inviting and made the game more engaging and enjoyable. Regular players love it, as it helps to make bets quicker, reduces room for error, and enhances in-game comfort. Full-time poker players and pros also love the multi-table functionality and betting options.
