PlayerGPS opened amid large industry fanfare as one of the most accurate sites that a player could use to track opponents on PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker.  The site originally launched during a successful beta period where its core functionality was working while additional features were being tested.  Now, the site is fully functional and comes with a host of features along with a reduced pricing structure that hits the budgets of small-stakes players while still catering to the biggest of high rollers.

The three subscription levels are:
Grinder ($0.50-$1 to $1-$2): $7.49 per month
Shark ($0.50-$1 to $10-$20): $14.99 per month
Balla' ($0.50-$1 and up): $29.99 per month

Users that subscribe to PlayerGPS are able to enter in the screen names of any player at the two biggest poker sites into their “Player Alert” list.  Users can also designate the players they are entering in to be sorted into a specific “Display List” and categorized with labels like friends, fish, sharks, or pros.

There are four main features that a user can activate once a player is added to their poker buddy list.  The first, and newest feature, is adding notes.  When you click on the "Notes" icon in the Player Alert list, a pop-up window will appear with the person’s site icon, name, and area to write in notes.  Once you've added them in, just press the "Update Player Notes" button:

The second feature is AOL Instant Messenger (IM) notification if a player logs in and sits down at a cash game table.  An IM window will open from PlayerGPS stating that a player (with their name and site) has sat down.  You'll be given the URL to PlayerGPS so that you can log in and see where they are playing.

The third feature is SMS text messages sent to your mobile phone.  With this alert turned on, any time a player sits down, your phone will receive a text message.  Many players actually have this feature activated for themselves as a form of security in order to ensure that their account is not accessed while they are away from a computer:

Finally, players can be sent an e-mail alerting them about specific players sitting down at tables.  This e-mail is extremely brief, but alerts them that a player on their list (with their name) is sitting down and playing and to log into PlayerGPS to find out more information:

Once you receive your alert notification via SMS, IM, or e-mail, you can log into PlayerGPS and click on the "Now Playing" button, which will show all of the players that are seated.  You'll even be given specific information regarding the table stakes, name, highest stack they had at the table, when they were found, and the last time the table information was updated:

With the addition of the notes feature along with the new pricing structure, PlayerGPS has become an even better value for the everyday poker player.  Mid- and high-stakes players will enjoy the ability to find their opponents at tables and be alerted to when big games are going on.  With such a small cost per month and new features being implemented, it seems like a wise investment for those who use online tools to help their game.
