Third Party Software Issues on Full Tilt Poker

Full Tilt Poker, the world’s second largest online poker room, recently introduced two significant upgrades to its software.  The first update involved backend upgrades and new table graphic formats.  The second completely overhauled the lobby.  That’s not to say that Full Tilt Poker hasn’t had its fair share of critics.  Players are still reporting lag times and even freezes with the software that require a reboot to fix.  For others, the software works fine and represents an attractive upgrade to the previous edition of the client.

One problem that is facing users who play at this poker room is the support for third party software.  Most online poker players use these third party tools to enhance their game play experience and boost their potential profitability.  Unfortunately, most, if not all, of these software programs were rendered dysfunctional with the upgrade.  Many of the major software developers have scrambled to release updates, while others have yet to successfully transition.

The first programs that players are looking for are PokerTracker 3 and Holdem Manager.  Both programs failed to import hands and have their Heads-Up Display (HUD) appear as soon as the new software was released.  However, both are operational once again.  Users are encouraged to visit their respective forums and download the latest editions of both programs.  PokerTracker 3 Release 5 and Holdem Manager 1.09 Beta 21 added support for the new Full Tilt Poker software.

Full Tilt Shortcuts was a popular program to assist in multi-tabling.  This program automatically handled street betting, table highlighting, time bank clicking, and other useful features.  With the new release of the new Full Tilt software, this program no longer works and the developer announced that it would no longer be supported.  A new software program called Poker Shortcuts works on both PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker and replaces Full Tilt Shortcuts.  An alpha version has been released to the public (one table), with owners of Full Tilt Shortcuts able to use the software on as many tables as they’d like.  Since the program is only in its infancy, many are reporting that it is unreliable.

TableNinjaFT comes from the same developers of TableNinja, a popular shortcuts program for PokerStars.  This new Full Tilt Poker edition is currently in a private alpha version, but reports so far are that the limited set of tools are working well with the program.  There is no word when TableNinjaFT will move into a public beta.

Poker Copilot is the only hand history tracking and HUD utility that works natively on the Mac OS X operating system.  The program recently released Poker Copilot 2, which works without a hitch with the Mac edition of Full Tilt Poker.

On the TwoPlusTwo forums, there is a thread dedicated to table and card modifications that users are submitting and are available for free.  If you are the type who enjoys a professional level of detail to mod work for table layouts and cards, TiltBuster.com has released several functioning mods.  Currently, there are 13 table mods available, ranging in price from $8 to $20, and three card mods ranging from free to $8.

Data mining sites such as HHSmithey and PokerTableRatings had about two weeks of downtime following the update to the Full Tilt software.  Fortunately, both of those sites are now 100% operational.

Buddy list programs and websites such as PlayerGPS continue to say that their upgrades are coming for Full Tilt Poker.  There’s been no specific timeframe given by any of the sites.  When they are updated, we will be sure to notify you here at PokerSoftware.com.
