The best sit and go players around have a solid grasp on push-fold poker for various situations.  Mastering the art of pushing or folding with different starting hands and stack sizes in a sit and go requires a lot of practice and analysis of data, but once you master it, you will hardly notice that you are putting that much thought into a hand.  There are several tools available to help us practice the skills needed to push or fold with the correct range of hands in sit and gos, but the problem is that many of them require a tedious process to enter data.

In most cases, especially in turbo sit and gos, the other players’ starting stacks do not matter that much.  You are simply playing the percentages and pushing with a range of hands based on the number of players left to act and your own stack size.  We recently stumbled across a new tool that will allow you to enter data quickly and see hand ranges to determine if you are pushing or folding correctly.

PotPush a free program that operates using a very simple graphical user interface (GUI) where you select the number of players left to act, the number of big blinds you have, and antes.  From there, you’ll see a range of hands that you should push all-in with.  If your hand doesn’t fall into the given range, then you should fold.  You also have the ability to configure the program with your desired push ranges.  The configuration process allows you to adjust your pushing ranges for a looser or tighter style of play.

Download a copy of PotPush and click on the “Install” button.  You will then install the program just as you would any other.  Once loaded, you can configure your ranges by clicking on the “Configure” menu.  Here’s a sneak peek:

PotPush is a very simple program that will help you become a better push-fold poker player.  I haven’t seen a product out there that makes entering game play information any easier.  After a couple of mouse clicks, you instantly have your pushing range displayed and can make the right play.  PotPush doesn’t have the advanced functionality that a program like SNG Wizard has, but it will help you get a better grasp on push-fold hand ranges.

As with any poker tool, make sure PotPush doesn’t violate the Terms and Conditions of the online poker sites you play on.  If you have any questions, problems, or concerns, please make a post in the Software Discussion forum and we will be there to help.
