If you’ve ever sat at a tournament table online, then you’ve inevitably asked yourself the question, “I wonder who my opponents are and if they’re any good at this?”  There are a few sites out there that have information about online poker players and their accomplishments, but few offer the comprehensive list of player profiles quite like ThePokerDB.

Powered by Bluff Magazine, ThePokerDB offers an amazing array of statistics for online poker players to view, including who is getting consistent results online and what stakes they’re dominating.  Currently, ThePokerDB provides information on all multi-table tournaments from the leading sites, including PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker, and Bodog.

On May 28th, ThePokerDB announced that it is expanding its award-winning database and will now be providing full tracking of tournament results from the Merge Network.

The Merge Gaming Network offers U.S. online poker players plenty of options on sites like Carbon Poker and Lock Poker since the events of Black Friday. With the April 15th indictments causing a shutdown of real money games to U.S. players on PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker, and Absolute Poker, the Merge Gaming Network has experienced a large boost in traffic.

According to the announcement, the Merge Gaming Network has seen a significant increase in traffic largely based on its reputation and deposit success rates.

While ThePokerDB offers a comprehensive database of statistics, the site makes it easy for players to look up their tablemates.  With a feature called Full Table Lookup, players can simply cut and paste a single hand history and click the “Search” button.

Immediately, the program brings up detailed information like the number of tournaments that the player has logged, the average buy-in for their selections, their profits, and their estimated ROI.

Additionally, ThePokerDB allows you to select each player’s profile to look at statistics, complete with tracking data.  You can search a player’s history by date, take a look at what their largest cash has been, what tournaments they frequent, and the percentage of the time the player finishes in the top three.

The information gathered provides an instantaneous review, which allows players to make more informed decisions on how they want to approach an opponent.

The announcement is good news to tournament poker players around the globe and makes ThePokerDB much closer to being comprehensive.  By adding the Merge Gaming Network, ThePokerDB now supports six of the highest trafficked online poker sites available to multi-table tournament players.

It’s important to note that only partial tracking is available on Merge at this time.  However, full results should become available soon.
