With the 2012 calendar year in full swing, we’ll take this opportunity to look back at 2011 and the online poker players who were searched the most by PokerTableRatings users. Poker Table Ratings offers visitors a variety of services including bulk hand history purchases, poker news updates, and, of course, the ability to monitor the largest pots on poker sites worldwide. The following is a rundown of the most searched players on PTR in 2011.

Fans and players of online poker will easily recognize the top searched player on PTR last year, none other than Viktor "Isildur1" Blom. The iconic player took online poker by storm beginning in November 2009 when he began competing in high-stakes No Limit Hold'em and Omaha games on Full Tilt Poker against well-known superstars like Cole "CTS" South, Brian "Stinger888" Hastings, Brian Townsend, and Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies.

The fervor in which Isildur1 competed had many fans of high-stakes action in awe and, to boot, his real name was veiled in secrecy. According to PokerTableRatings.com, Blom took a short break from poker, but is currently back competing in the $50/$100 Pot Limit Omaha Six-Max tables on PokerStars, where he’s a sponsored pro.

The second most searched player in 2011 was Randy "nanonoko" Lew, who relocated to Vancouver, Canada following Black Friday. Lew is a highly consistent online poker player whose results can be viewed and analyzed by any PokerTableRatings user.

Coming in at #3 last year was Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies, who had an up and down 2011 at the online poker tables.

For those who are relatively new to online poker, the service provided by PokerTableRatings allows for widespread discussion and promotion of the game we love. Thanks to PTR, we know that there have been pots that have awarded well over $1 million to the winner. In a matter of minutes, the fortunes of high-stakes players can swing as much as seven digits thanks to the functionality of online poker sites.

Continuing with our list of the top 20 most searched players on PokerTableRatings.com from last year, coming in at #4 was “mrsweets28,” followed by Tom “durrrr” Dwan, “0Human0,” “LuckyGump,” Daniel “KidPoker” Negreanu, “Sauce123,” “Chiren80,” Dan “jungleman12” Cates, “nutsinho,” “gavz101,” “!p0krparty¡”, “PepperoniF,” “urubu111,” Scott “urnotindangr” Palmer, “innerpsy,” Lex Veldhuis, and “takechip.”

The poker tools available for those who use PokerTableRatings.com include a comprehensive player search, buddy list, poker coach list, site rake analysis, table finder, and web-based HUD.

For online poker players who use poker tracking programs, PTR offers the ability to purchase hand histories in bulk from PokerStars, PartyPoker, the Merge Gaming Network, the Cake Poker Network, the iPoker Network, the Ongame Network, and more.

The best deals can be found for those who purchase large numbers of hand histories at one time. For example, someone who purchases three million hands of $0.50/$1 No Limit Hold'em Six-Max played on PokerStars that have taken place over the past few weeks can do so for the low price of $144 at PokerTableRatings.com.
