One of the newest members of the Ace Poker Solutions software family is Leak Buster for Pot Limit Omaha, which works with Holdem Manager 2, PokerTracker 3, and PokerTracker 4. Now, PLO players can plug leaks and improve their games with a variety of filters.

Using any Leak Buster product also means access to informative tutorial videos produced by professional poker players, a feature several customers have said is worth the purchase price by itself.

PokerSoftware caught up with Ace Poker Solutions' John Anhalt to break down the development of Leak Buster PLO.

PokerSoftware: Talk about the process of rolling out Leak Buster PLO for Holdem Manager 2. How much development work was involved in doing so? Walk us through how it went.

John Anhalt: Converting Leak Buster PLO to work for Holdem Manager 2 was quite a process. HM2 has a completely different language and database structure. Everything had to be completely reworked. It's basically an entirely different program than HM1 even though it looks almost exactly the same.

PokerSoftware: Are there any fundamental differences between Leak Buster for Hold'em and Leak Buster PLO? Or, is Leak Buster pretty simple to adapt to different games from a technical standpoint?

John Anhalt: The Hold'em version of Leak Buster will hierarchically rank your leaks based on sample size and the severity of the loss when compared to other winning players. Leak Buster for PLO doesn't do this, as it's not as necessary. Instead, there are a lot more filters and leaks that are looked for in PLO. In general, though, Leak Buster is much different for each game, and what it's looking for in terms of leaks is completely different for each form of poker.

PokerSoftware: Is Leak Buster PLO also available for PokerTracker?

John Anhalt: Yes, Leak Buster is available for Poker Tracker 3 and currently in beta for Poker Tracker 4. It has to be purchased directly though our website and is currently only available for No Limit Hold'em with Poker Tracker compatibility.

PokerSoftware: How has Leak Buster been received in the new HM2? Have you seen increased interest in the brand?

John Anhalt: There were so many changes in HM2 that upon its initial release, any bugs that were changed or worked on in HM2 would affect Leak Buster. So, we were doing constant updates because of this to adapt to the new HM2 changes. Both teams knew there would be a bit of a growing pain because of this, but the results are worth it.

Now that things are much more stable in HM2, customers seem to be really happy with all of the new features in HM2 and how Leak Buster works with it. I think customers recognize how dedicated our staff is to the brand and they seem to express their appreciation a lot.

PokerSoftware: Talk about the importance of filters within the various Leak Buster products. What purpose do they serve and how can players maximize their win rates by using them?

John Anhalt: The filters are extremely important. One of my favorite functions in Leak Buster is that it not only looks for a ton of spots that most players wouldn't even necessarily consider looking at themselves, but it also makes it all automated, ranks the filter leaks based on how much they impact your win rate on average, and then provides information on correcting them. With one click, you get a ton of valuable information.

PokerSoftware: Talk about the process of compiling Omaha instructional videos in Leak Buster. How did you go about creating the videos?

John Anhalt: With every version of Leak Buster, we work with different consultants to provide feedback and video content. Tom Chambers did all of the video content in Leak Buster Omaha and we've been told on several poker forums by mid- and even high-stakes players that the videos alone are worth the Leak Buster cost. So, I think that says a lot.

PokerSoftware: What's next for Leak Buster? What other projects can you share with us?

John Anhalt: We have a ton of new features we're in the process of putting in. We've been adding more filtering for No Limit Holdem, more video content, and hierarchy ranking for PLO. We have software in development to analyze street-by-street leaks. It's been in development for over three years, but we're super close to the first beta, so we're excited.
