The newest version of PokerTracker 4 was released in recent days and features an update to its table selection tool. As text found in an e-mail from PokerTracker officials to PokerSoftware explains, "The new Table Selection tool is no longer an experimental feature. It has been revised thanks to the fantastic feedback from the PokerTracker community. The Table Selection tool will now appear to accurately place the HUD any time the poker room does not provide unique table names. This feature can be disabled by clicking 'Configure' > 'HUD Options' > 'Advanced' > 'HUD Table Selection.'"

Table selection software is critical to becoming a successful poker player. In essence, if you can seat yourself alongside players you can beat, you should be able to increase your win rate at the tables. Plus, programs like PokerTracker can help you play on more tables at the same time, therefore increasing your profits even more.

In other updates as part of the latest version of PokerTracker 4, called 4.09, effective stack calculations in Cap games have been adjusted. Now, the word "Cap" will be displayed as part of the limit played on all online poker sites that PokerTracker supports. Additionally, the Hand History Viewer within PokerTracker 4 received a facelift of sorts, as according to PokerTracker, "Hand histories that are copied to the clipboard have been revised to assure that they are only displayed up to the time of the hand."

PokerTracker's TableTracker was adjusted to reflect a recent update to PokerStars and date errors in HORSE and Eight-Game PokerStars tournaments were corrected. Over on PokerStars' sister site, Full Tilt, Rush tournament hand detection was improved, as were import issues in Matrix tournaments. Finally, non-supported Six-Card Omaha hands on Full Tilt can no longer be imported.

According to PokerTracker, it's important to do a little maintenance on your database after downloading the latest update: "Due to the stat fixes and improvements in this release, a database cache rebuild is required to assure that your database performs optimally when using any of the stats that were altered, fixed, or updated."

PokerTracker is one of the most popular programs we have reviewed here at PokerSoftware. If you've never tried it out before, you should know that there's a free 30-day trial.
