SitNGo Wizard 2 to Include Improved Equity Calculations

We've talked a little bit on PokerSoftware about the upcoming rollout of SitNGo Wizard 2. Here's another nugget of information that should make its debut even more exciting: the program's developers are working on a feature that more accurately calculates equity. As its staff told PokerSoftware, "Currently, the Wizard approximates equity for tied pots and side pots. The new calculation will correctly handle ties." The official release date of SitNGo Wizard 2 has yet been set. In the meantime, it exists in beta mode.

After the equity improvements are made, the next new feature will focus on hand ranges. As SitNGo Wizard officials put it, "The next new feature will allow users to pick which hands are in opponent hand ranges. Currently, users pick opponent hand ranges based on a fixed hand ranking order by moving a slider. The new feature will allow them to pick any hand to include or exclude from the range. It is easily the most requested feature on our list, so it will make a lot of people happy."

Let's start with the equity calculations. In a program that specializes in mathematical models like ICM and helps users dominate the late stages of sit and gos, having as many precise calculations as possible is key. After all, if your sit and go life is on the line, you'd want to make sure you had the most accurate data possible, especially when it comes to equity. Several all-in situations involve the possibility of ties, so kudos to the SitNGo Wizard team on improving this part of the software.

We've heard mixed reviews on whether the ranging improvements will actually matter, but it's positive to see SitNGo Wizard responding to its customers' demands. Allowing even more hands to be included or excluded from a range could in theory increase the accuracy of the data that SitNGo Wizard spits out.

If you aren't familiar with SitNGo Wizard 2, it's built on a Holdem Manager 2 database and, therefore, looks and feels similar to Holdem Manager 2. As our review of SitNGo Wizard 2 here on PokerSoftware explains, "The standalone version has almost all of the features the integrated version [with Holdem Manager 2] contains. However, I would recommend having a program similar to HM2 anyway since it helps you learn hand ranges a bit better, which helps you get the most out of your SitNGo Wizard experience."
