According to Pokerfuse, PokerStars, the world's largest online poker room, has reached out to players to alpha test PokerStars 7.

We originally heard about the latest reboot to PokerStars late last year and, according to Pokerfuse, "Players will download a separate alpha test poker client and be asked to 'try the new software, report any bugs, and provide general feedback on specific features and functionality.'"

For player feedback on PokerStars 7, we'll turn to Mike "Gags30" Gagliano, an instructor at PocketFives Training who wrote previously that he's a fan of the new software: "The software caters to regulars who love to really customize the software for their liking and also to recreational players who want to simply sit down and begin playing poker without having to worry about 100 different filters and settings."

According to Gagliano, the new-look PokerStars should also impress players who partake in multi-table tournaments: "From an MTT players perspective, there is everything you could ever ask for. I had a list of about 15 items from the MTT community and probably six or seven of those requests I did not even have to bring up to Stars, as they already had these requests fulfilled in the PokerStars 7 client. Overall, Stars is getting a slick redo and going to be much more visually appealing, extremely customizable, and a lot easier to use for everyone."

When PokerStars 7 was originally announced, the interface was much simpler, allowing players to find games and take their seats quickly. Easy-access tabs were given for "Ring Games," "Zoom," "Sit & Go," "Tournaments," and "Live Events" and cash games were grouped by limits. A "Quick Start" feature is also available and your cashier balance is viewable in the lobby.

According to Pokerfuse, and outlined by the aforementioned changes, PokerStars could be "affecting how you choose your game" by streamlining the process. That means more players seated faster, which could lead to more bodies at the tables. The release of PokerStars 7 is scheduled for later this year, according to Pokerfuse.
