Profiling your opponents is an important and difficult task.  Top Shark by Poker Pro Labs can help, especially if you were just brought to a new table with opponents you are not familiar with.  Why? You'll have a complete profile of each player.

Top Shark has outdone itself by increasing the amount of information available on each player by grouping tournaments together in the "Favorites" section on player profile pages.  Now, you can see how your opponent performs overall and by their favorite tournaments.

The information displayed depends on the site, but at a minimum will include a Top Shark rating that is specific to that particular tournament.  Other player information that is grouped by tournament type includes average profit, average ROI %, total profit, tournament buy-in, ITM%, and wins/losses.  This information should be very important to you when playing online tournaments and sit and gos.

In an example we looked at online, we saw that a poker player had 385 total tournaments on Winamax with an average buy-in of €17.61, an ROI of 31%, and an ITM of 19%.  This player also had a player rating of an Ace with two stars and should have been deemed a competent player based off this information.

When digging deeper into this poker player's profile, we can predict that this player takes €20 tournaments more seriously than €10 tournaments.  Why?  For the latter tournament type, this player shows a five-star Ace rating, the best on Top Shark.

This information can be extremely useful to any player wanting to quickly profile their opponents, especially when adding in the possibility of receiving ROI and ITM information.  To have all of this information without having to dig further is a serious online tournament player's dream.

Another great use of the new feature is looking up your own profile.  You may be surprised to find that you perform much better at some tournament types than others.  While you shouldn't overreact to this information, if the sample size is big enough, you should either consider playing a certain tournament type more or less depending on your personal breakdown.

If you haven't already checked out Top Shark, I would recommend trying it out today.  It provides 20 free player profile searches a day, so even if you don't want to profile everyone, there may be a few people on your tournament tables you want to look up.   Try Top Shark the next time you are playing online poker tournaments and let us know what you think of this new and exciting feature.
