Leak Buster Analyzes When to 3Bet

Are you a cash game poker player with leaks in your game?  Don't worry; even the best players have leaks that cost them money on the tables.  The good news is that Leak Buster will help identify and plug your leaks to turn you into a more profitable player.

Leak Buster recently released a video on a topic most players have trouble with, when to 3bet.  In a 21-minute video entitled "3Bet ISO Resteals vs Regulars," you are sure to learn a bit about when to 3bet in position or when to pass for a better opportunity.

If you are not capitalizing in the right spots against the right opponents, you are not maximizing the amount of money you can make at the tables.  This video helps you identify the fish and spots you should be looking for.

While we all know it is ideal to isolate premium hands like A-A, K-K, and A-K so that you are not facing multiple opponents even when in position.  How about Q-9 offsuit?  This hand flops well and the video starts off by showing how you can disguise your hand when you miss a flop and capitalize when you do hit a flop.

The video then progresses to show that by utilizing Leak Buster, you can determine what your opponent's 3bet call range might be, which is important to think about when making these types of aggressive moves.

While moves like this are easier to make on the button, how would you play A-8 offsuit when the player under the gun raises and you are next to act?  There are a few additional things to think about here than just what the original raiser might be raising with, one of which is how aggressive the remaining opponents are in position.  There are some hands you can flat and see what happens, but many of your opponents will see this as an opportunity to 3bet, putting you in a rough spot out of position.  Therefore, the video recommends you 3bet or fold your hand.

The scenario in the video has you 3betting and everyone folding except for the original raiser, who calls out of position.  The video has you thinking about the ranges of hands this opponent might be calling with and how to react on a dry 3-5-6 flop.  The original raiser checks, you bet, and he calls.  Now, what is your plan the rest of the hand?

Interestingly enough, an ace hits the turn, giving you top pair, but without knowing what your opponent has, this can be a trap card or one that helped you against your opponent's mid-pairs that didn't flop a set.  Since your opponent checks again, it is wise to bet for value here and reevaluate how your opponent acts on the river.  When your opponent calls and a dry nine comes on the board, it is important to bet for additional value trying to make your bet seem like a three-barrel bluff.

As you can see, these concepts are important to your game if you don't want to just be an ABC player.  I fully recommend watching the video to pick up a tip or two and improve your game.
