If you are looking to take your game to the next level and the idea of watching videos or reading books does not appeal to you, you should definitely consider checking out the Inferential Poker Engine Training Suite, a program we just posted a review of.

IPE is a hands-on training program that allows you to improve your No Limit Hold'em skills by practicing with a simulator and receiving real-time advice with detailed reasoning throughout the process.

This interactive program will have at six volumes, and the first volume, "Basic Tactics and Tips," was just released.  This volume is designed for the player who has played a bit of poker and understands the basic math, but is looking to take their game to the next level.  Beginning and advanced players should also gain something with this volume of the software suite.

Installing the software is very quick and the software itself is designed well and is easy to use.  There is also a detailed manual on how to use the software, but there is a good chance you will not need it based on its intuitive design.

The simulator has two different methods: study and play.  You are able to choose, in either mode, whether you want your advice to be more LAG- or TAG-oriented.  You can also pick stack sizes, blinds, antes, and the number of players at the table.  Both methods not only give you advice on your own hand, but also give you the option to see what advice it would give if you were in your opponent's shoes.

The simulator is very fun to use and teaches you at the same time.  You are able, on the click of a button, to see what your range should be as well as what your perceived range of the villain should be.

When you are done playing around with the simulator, there are plenty of other study tools.  You can learn more about the strength of each starting hand; relationships of different hand categories summarizing wins, losses, and ties; likelihood of certain hands improving on the flop, turn, and river; and a post-flop study tool for board types.

Each of these tools will help you understand not only the math behind the game, but also teach you how to play certain hands when you are playing in the simulator or for real money online.

As an experienced player, I loved Volume I, which is fun and educational to use even when I only have a few spare minutes of time.  I am looking forward to the next five volumes IPE will be putting out in the near future.

Unlike other poker training software out there, IPE has a one-time cost.  This allows you to learn at your own pace and not feel pressured about the value you are getting out of a monthly subscription.  The first volume is reasonably priced at $39.99, a bargain considering if you even pick up one helpful hint out of the software, it more than pays back the cost.  Try out IPE Training Suite today!
