Poker Software Revealed with Kissemiss 1
We sat down with 25-year-old Swedish recreational player
Kissemiss 1 to get his thoughts about poker software. Kissemiss 1 primarily enjoys playing lower limit tournaments on
PokerStars.

PokerSoftware: What poker-related software do you use?
Kissemiss 1: I currently use the
Poker Copilot HUD while playing.
PokerSoftware: How do you like Poker Copilot in general? Have you tried any other software in the past?
Kissemiss 1: I find that it is helping me a lot, both while playing and after. However, I don't have anything to compare it to. I tried to install the Mac version of
PokerTracker 4 as well, but had problems syncing my poker client software to it for some reason. I am not very technically skilled, so at the end of the day I just went with the easiest option.
PokerSoftware: What do you like the best about Poker Copilot? How useful is the software to you while playing?
Kissemiss 1: In addition to the software making reviewing hand histories easy and helping me keep track on my opponents' way of playing while playing, I really like that it keeps track on the way I am playing. As an example, the software shows me from which positions I am more active, so I can analyze my game and get better. The software helps me answer questions I have about my game including, "Do I defend too wide?" and "Maybe I should steal more often?" The poker software helps me answer these and other questions that I continuously ask myself.
PokerSoftware: Is there anything you don't like about Poker Copilot?
Kissemiss 1: I don't know if the other programs are any different, but I would really like the HUD to adapt to the structure of the tournament being played. For example, during a 3x turbo rebuy, it might not be spewy to have a high VPIP or shove ace-ten offsuit from early position since it is just adapting to the structure. It does annoy me to have my own HUD labeling me as a fish because I am adjusting to the dynamics of the structure.
PokerSoftware: Which
HUD stats do you tend to use the most often?
Kissemiss 1: It depends on where we are in the hand, but I look at VPIP compared to pre-flop raise a lot. I also tend to look at 3-bet, c-bet, and blind steal attempts statistics, as these help me get a picture about a particular opponent's game in general.
PokerSoftware: Have you tried playing poker on a mobile device?
Kissemiss 1: Yes, I have played on the iPhone PokerStars app during a very long flight, but I wouldn't recommend it. I found it tricky to multi-table and to find the right bet-sizing. However, I feel it is very good that the app exists as a backup for when internet fails you in the middle of a multi-table tournament.
