Table Scanner 2 uses the data in your Hold'em Manager 2 database to help you find the best tables on the sites you play at.  You can have the software manually scan the lobbies of these sites to find and seat for you at the tables based off criteria you helped define or use the premium InstaScan, which automatically scans the sites from table data being constantly updated in Hold'em Manager's cloud.
 
Additionally, the software can be helpful if you have a few players that you always want to be at the table with regardless of what their statistics show in your database.  The software's Fish Scan will use InstaScan to find players your marked as fish or buddies even if you do not have your poker client open.
 
Most of the time, you shouldn't find the Fish Scan of importance since the default auto-scoring should help you find the opponents that suit you the best.  The auto-scoring can be tweaked if your personal preferences are different than what Table Scanner 2 suggests.
