Leak Buster 3.0 is an integrated application inside Holdem Manager that is designed to scan through your stats and let you know what your biggest leaks are. For most players, getting this type of information is akin to one-on-one coaching over the course of many sessions. However, Leak Buster 3.0 will calculate it all in a matter of seconds with enough depth to last you for hours.
There is a 15-day free trial and, if you like it, you can buy the Standard edition for $49.99, which works for games up to 50nl ($0.25-$0.50 blinds) for six-max and full ring play. The Pro edition, which works at all stakes, is $79.99 and, if you play Limit and No Limit, you can buy the Pro Combo for $114.98. Considering that the cost of a micro-stakes coach runs about $40 per hour, the price of the app seems more than reasonable.
The first step in the Leak Buster 3.0 process is to run a complete analysis. When you select that option, you can decide to analyze all of your hands, analyze by stake level, and add a filter to your analysis. Typically, you’ll pick the “by stake level” option since your game will evolve drastically between levels. Once you’ve made your decisions, you need to stay patient, as the more hands you have in your database, the longer the process might take. For a 29,000-hand sample, the number crunching took less than 90 seconds on a new Core i7 Processor system.
After Leak Buster 3.0 has found your leaks, you will see 10 steps to work through. The first step is the “Guide,” which shows a general overview of stats like the number of leaks you have, number of potential leaks, and a total score. Below that, you will see a quick analysis of each step:
You can then work your way through by going to each step’s page inside Leak Buster 3.0 and seeing an incredible amount of detail about your game. In Step 2, you’ll find your major leaks along with advice on how to improve. In addition, if there is a video discussing a topic that would help you, a link is provided for you to watch it. Step 3 will show you your leaks by position at the table and Step 4 will deal specifically with pre-flop play. Step 5 shows trouble hands and Step 6 talks about 3betting. The final steps (7-10) deal with filters, biggest losses, opponents, and heads-up displays (HUDs):
For micro-stakes players and those of you stuck in small-stakes games, for $49.99, Leak Buster 3.0 seems like a great investment. The program is being tweaked with updates to reflect the status of today’s games, making it relative to the games you are playing now. One thing that it doesn’t consider is how you are running, which might tweak some stats, but that’s a very small item to nitpick in an otherwise solid program.

January, 6, 2011Leakbuster is an invaluable asset to anyone trying to improve their poker game. If I had Leakbuster when I started playing, I would be a much wealthier man than I am today. To be able to clearly identify your biggest strengths and weaknesses in your game with no guess-work in itself would be excellent, but the fact that leakbuster shows you how to correct those leaks makes it a must buy for any serious poker player.
