Full Review

Poker Sharpener is a program with two main features: real-time stats and database analysis.  A user-friendly program, Poker Sharpener automatically detects the tables you have open on a specific site and begins tracking immediately.  The main advantage this program holds over similar programs is that it requires no additional software to run the HUD (Heads Up Display).

The user is able to define terms such as "Tight" and "Loose" by inserting relevant percentages.  When faced with a decision, the player can quickly browse at his or her opponent's statistics and use that information to decide on a course of action.  The adjustable live analysis attachment provides useful information such as pot odds, hand rank, and number of outs needed to complete a certain hand.  The HUD can be customized to display more detailed information or a player can go to the "Table Statistics" tab for an entire list of real-time stats on opponents.

Overall, Poker Sharpener is a great introductory program to analyzing real-time stats and using them to make better decisions at the virtual tables.  The trial version allows a total of 350 hand histories to be imported into the Poker Sharpener database.  After that, there is a $69 per year cost to purchase the program's license.
