CardRunners, a poker training site that has earned a reputation as one of the world's leading resources for online poker instruction and discussion, has announced new online poker pros for the 2012 calendar year.

These pros will be active members of the site through their video content, blogs, and forum activity.

For players who are unfamiliar with CardRunners, the site has helped tens of thousands of poker players improve their games and has long been regarded as one of the premier resources available on the Web.

Joao Barbosa

Hailing from Portugal, Barbosa has wins in events held as part of the EPT’s stops in Deauville, San Remo, and Warsaw to go toward his lifetime winnings of $1.85 million. He is a regular competitor at Pot Limit Omaha cash games ranging from $400 No Limit to $5,000 No Limit and Pot Limit buy-ins. He is also the all-time career earnings leader in the country of Portugal. Barbosa’s contributions to CardRunners in the upcoming months will consist of Six-Max No Limit cash game videos and MTT videos.

Stefan Haffner

Haffner goes by the online poker screen name "sh58" and has been competing at the tables since 2007. His educational background comes from the University of Sussex, where he studied music. Originally getting his start playing $3 buy-in sit and go tournaments, Haffner eventually moved on to MTTs and micro-stakes No Limit cash games.

Once he became a member of CardRunners, Haffner improved his online poker skills and built an impressive bankroll with which he began to compete in higher stakes games. His original plan to become a professional pianist was derailed when he decided to dedicate his attention to poker full-time. Haffner now plays $600 to $1,000 buy-in Heads-Up No Limit matches on several sites and will be producing video content for mid- to high-stakes Heads-Up No Limit Hold’em players.

Christopher George

George, who goes by the online poker screen name "CeeGee," was a Five-Card Draw player as a kid and competed against his father. His grip of meta-game and poker theory is solid, which enables him to understand the nuances between cash and tournament Mixed Game play. He has several WSOP cashes, including in the $10,000 buy-in Omaha Hi/Lo, Stud Hi/Lo, and Seven-Card Stud events. His video commitment for CardRunners members will be on Omaha Hi/Lo and Stud Hi. George's videos will be especially valuable to players who wish to improve their bottom lines in Mixed Game play.

Jonas Gjelstad

Gjelstad is known as "Liqqa" online, is only 20 years of age and hails from Norway. He got his online poker start by playing low-stakes sit and go tournaments in 2007 and then moved on to Heads-Up No Limit Hold’em cash games. He took up Heads-Up Pot Limit Omaha games and has played those exclusively over the past two years. CardRunners members will be able to check out his Pot Limit Omaha videos, which will be filmed at mid-stakes Heads-Up tables.

If you're not currently a member of CardRunners, the site is offering a 50% discount on a one-year subscription, but the offer will end soon. To find out more about CardRunners' pros for 2012 and to sign up to one of the leading online poker training sites in the world, visit CardRunners.com.
