If you haven't already heard, the HORSE Poker Calculator is a post-game analysis tool available on iOS devices such as the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch. This application provides users with the ability to receive their odds of winning, tying, and total equity in each of the games of HORSE.

Even though this one-of-a-kind application is new, its developers have already released a new update, Version 1.1. Creator Matt Unks told PokerSoftware.com that many smaller updates will be released quickly rather than wait for a period of time to release one bigger update.

For those of you who are not familiar with HORSE, it is a mixed poker game where the games change every few hands or orbits. In HORSE, you'll find Limit Holdem, Limit Omaha 8 or Better, Razz, Stud, and Stud 8 or Better. I strongly recommend playing around with this poker odds calculator before playing HORSE or any of the games individually so you have an idea of the mathematics behind each game. The HORSE Poker Odds Calculator will help you learn the fundamentals using a similar interface you might already be familiar with from Cardshark Brain.

The application's recent update adds a new feature to the Stud and Hold'em calculators. The odds calculator now allows its users to view a separate individual stats screen when touching the win, tie, and equity results box.

As someone who plays mixed games, I was anxious to test this new feature. In the Hold'em Calculator, I plugged in 6-5 clubs for myself along with Kh-Kd for an opponent and wanted to see what my total pre-flop odds were. As expected, this hand is a significant underdog before the flop at 22.87% odds to win and 0.36% odds to tie, providing total equity of 23.05%.

The new feature appeared when I touched where the odds were provided and I was able to see the likelihood of winning or tying by hitting certain combinations on the board. Since I am up against a strong pocket pair in this scenario, it shows me 0% chance for high card or one pair. I am 3.64% likely to win the hand with two pair. This does not mean I am only 3.64% likely to hit two pair; this is the chance I win or tie when hitting two pair. This continues along with odds of winning and tying while having combinations such as three of a kind, straight, flush, full house, four of a kind, and straight flush.

The new screen in the application also provides the total number of potential outcomes the calculator considered when providing the odds along with the total number of hands that fit the individual categories to provide win and tie percentages.

According to HORSE Poker Calculator, we should expect to see in the near future a similar update to the Razz Calculator.

Considering the creators of the software are dedicated to making frequent updates, if you are at all interested in learning any or all of the games of HORSE, you should definitely purchase this application. You will not find a better bargain out there for under $1 with the dedication this development team brings. Learn more.
