iPoker Network Testing New Client

To the delight of many poker players, the iPoker Network is about to get a brand new client featuring a much sleeker design.  This network has historically been one of the most popular places to play poker and was once ranked in cash game traffic according to PokerScout as high as second place.

Poker skins on the network include some of the biggest names in the online gaming industry like Betfair, Titan Poker, Ladbrokes, William Hill, and bet365.

The software has been in development for over six months and we can finally get our first look at it now that it has been rolled out to bet365 on a test basis.  We are definitely impressed so far with what we see.

The entire lobby is completely redesigned and has more of a Windows look and feel to it.  In other words, instead of there being tabs to select what you are looking for, there are instead tiles to help players decide which games to play.  Simply clicking on any tile will automatically bring you to the best game in the category selected.

This not only is great for players, but also for the network, as it is now able to easily feature tournaments that are about to begin along with other verticals including like online casino games.

Players who want to see all tables will still have that option.  Not only that, it is cleaner than before, utilizing icons to display more information about a particular ring game table.  Additionally, the advanced filters are more tucked away, but still available to players who wish to use this option.

The tables themselves also appear to be sharper and definitely should prove to be more attractive to recreational and professional online poker players alike.  Game play also appears to be smoother, which has been one of the main complaints outside of the client itself.

One thing we haven't seen yet is a Mac version of the software, which is something many players have been asking for.  It appears at least for the time being that players who use the OS X operating system will still have to use Windows Boot Camp or a similar program in order to be able to play on this network.

However, players who use Apple devices shouldn't be completely upset, as a new app has been rolled out to the iPhone and iPad.  We also learned that players do not need to download any app to play on bet365 Poker on a mobile device and can play directly within a browser.  This leads us to believe that browser play should also be available to players on the iPoker network, which would resolve some issues with there appearing to be no Mac client at the moment.

They should concentrate on fixing the existing glitches before creating new ones.
